A new deal announced Thursday allows the New Orleans Saints to call the Louisiana Super Dome their home through at least 2025.  The deal also will create a Sports Development District by allowing Saints owner Tom Benson to purchased the surrounding structures, the New Orleans Centre and Dominion Tower.  These two were damaged during hurricane Katrina and were never repaired.  They currently remain unused.

The new agreement is good for the state as well, saving them $280 million compared to the current deal with the Saints.  This opens the door for New Orleans holding another Super Bowl in the near future and restoring the city to what it once was before the natural disaster stuck it down.

Running back sensation Reggie Bush is sidelined once again.  Bush suffered a knee injury during Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.  He is scheduled for arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday and is expected to miss three to four weeks.

Bush will miss the team’s trip to London, England where they will play the Chargers.  Because the Saints’ bye week follows the London game, it is possible that Bush would only miss one game.  Only being with out Bush is great news for the Saints as they struggled without him losing to the Panthers 30-7.  Head coach Sean Payton described the Saints as “one-dimensional” following the loss of Bush.

The Saints need to be running on all cylinders to keep up with the NFC South, following Sunday’s win putting the Panthers on top with a record of 5-2.  The Saints are 3-4 after the loss.
